Have a read through the lastest news and updates at Barbarians.
Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, Friday 20.3.2020 will be our last meeting until further notice. We shall inform you of when we shall be reopening.
We are currently working to ensure that we can open as soon as possible, ensuring that all swimmers and teachers remain safe.
We have space for those aged 5 years and above that can swim recognised breaststroke.
Please contact for further details.
For those that can already swim we teach diving, lifesaving and survival skills. To join this you need to be able to swim 25m confidently in front crawl, breaststroke and backstroke.
By taking part in these lessons you have an opportunity to train and become a swimming teacher.
Thank you to Glenn Rogers and Bary Pescott for the donation to the club.
Barbarian Swimmers originally started in 1967 for scouts and guides, but is now open to all the local children of Hastings and surrounding areas and teaches on average 250 children each Friday evening.
The Club is operated solely by dedicated volunteers who also provide all the teaching each and every week.
Barbarian Swimmers have celebrated their 50th anniversary this year and held two events to celebrate.
Firstly, there was the annual Barbarian Olympics which was a fantastic night with all our Club members having fun and competing against each other to win prizes.
The second, was a Club picnic where our members got to play games and celebrate to the huge success of the Club over the last 50 years.
We would like to say a special thank you to STAnley the Seal from the STA who came to celebrate with us!
